We Now move from Potential Event  to Time To Make it Happen.

We are on a 24 day countdown from May 6 Open Call to the 24 Hours of Music Jamboree Event which means our date is Noon May 30-Sat to 12 Noon Sun Noon.
Your Music Submissions ParticipationOf the two options 1. go live at a time or 2. submit a recording all to be premiered live at showtime.
The general consensus from those of you who accepted have opted to submit a recording and for me that is great considering the variations of live music issues, the internet locations and as someone said to me I cannot played my Trombone at 3 in the morning.
To that end here’s what required: Please submit a recording of:

  • Your performance to be used during 24 Hours of Music Jamboree.
  • 15 Mins – 30 Mins – 60 mins or more.
  • Preferably a brand new performance, if not a past performance that’s very good, some folks may create a Medley of performances.
  • Please submit a quality recording
    • If you can record using your phone or a camera
    • If a phone hopefully its a good one and use highest quality setting
    • Cameras usually make great video
    • If you are making, recording, or finding a past one and submitting a FB Live or Instagram video please go horizontal (I know a pain for you iphone folks but everybody turn your camera sideways if you can please)

Introduction video or script adviceDo it like real-timePlease make an opening video if you want – Hi 24 Hours of Music or we or I am are x  hello South Orange, It’s Corona time – what ever you want 🙂  please keep it short and sweet under 30 or 45 secs and of course intro the band or yourself if its just you.

Subject: Potential Virtual South Orange 24 Hours of Music Jamboree Online
Hi All
It’s been a while and hoping all of you and your family are staying safe. I miss all of you.
Normally we do the all Volunteer 24 Hours of Music in May or least we did for 2017 and 2018, for 2019 it was cold weather so we moved to July which was too hot so moved again and we had a great time in Sept. I’ll be releasing past snippets as I find them this week on a website 24hoursofmusicjamboree.com this week.
But the real question is : Any of you interested in participating in a Virtual 24 Hours of Music Jamboree? Online probably via Zoom or some other means to be determined?

  • Since its virtual the thought is folks would play at assigned times right through the night or prerecord? I’m open.
  • All genres can apply
  • The objective as always as long as their is somebody running live music, so dance, poetry, classes, etc, etc then we are good, audience participation is cool…
  • You can, like always play for a 1/2 hour or hour or more?
  • Since we are sequestered and social distancing I am leaving it up to you to do what works for your situation as some folks have many folks who play in one location and others  have just themselves.  Solo performers all the way to big bands allowed, you just have to find a place to play and record 🙂
  • Of course we can be as creative as we want – in the house, on the porch, on the driveway, in the tree or on the beach or yes in the bedroom or bathroom where acoustics are usually great 🙂
  • We will of course have virtual venues for primarily 1. Jazz on Sloan at the Gazebo and a 2. Spiotta Park location and Around 3. South Orange location which this year can be any of your favorite stores.
  • This is a Volunteer Event  however if you have a store, friend, venue etc that wants to get their business promoted and wants to sponsor you from anywhere just let me know and I will make sure they get promoted for the weeks before, during and after.
  • And yes there are lots of thoughts of how to make this a fundraiser for you guys if there is enough interest and we can make the logistics work.

So that  is the high level thought and if interested just hit reply and let me know if you are interested  and whether you be interested in one of the slots below.

  • day (12 -4),
  • late day (4-7PM)
  • eve, (7PM-Midnight) ,
  • overnight (12 – 6 AM),
  • early morning Sunday (6-9AM) or
  • closing out on Sunday morning between (9-12)

Yes you may gladly invite or share this email. The date would mostly be memorial day weekend but TBD/

Thanks all for now and please please stay safe.
